Regularly acknowledging and citing what we feel grateful for, is housework for the mind.

Doing so habitually, is to clear away the head clutter and debris, which like junk mail is fast accumulating. The litter I am describing is varied, including: things which are out of our control / news and current affairs / other peoples’ actions.

Focusing on what we are lucky enough to have is clarity, a glint in our eye, and as precious as a diamond. Consciously recalling these things serves as a head map and keeps our soul nourished.

We must gather them up, and bask in the glory of our own unique fortunes.

Try to jot down five things which fills your heart with warm gratitude and recite them to yourselves in the morning – before you get out of bed.

Here are five of mine: –

1: That I can walk and talk, the prognosis was that I would not be able to do either; and whilst the disability is becoming more challenging, instead I am immensely grateful that I can. Many people with cerebral palsy are reliant on a wheelchair.

2: I have a fantastic daughter, granddaughter, and son-in-law, with whom I am extremely close to. Being in a close-knit family cannot be taken for granted.

3: I have a small circle of lifelong friends who I speak with regularly, and who I consider as family.

4: I have running water, electricity, and food in the fridge.

5: I live on planet earth, which provides me with sun, sea and nature, and a rich choice of places that I can visit and relax in.

I hope you find this helpful.

With SUNNY wishes,
