True happiness is found within; it’s the connection of mind body and spirit. When like-minded people get together, they experience shared values, humour and quality time. They have fun regardless of their surroundings – and time flies by, memories are made and revisited.
The reason we invest with true friends is the effortless connection we enjoy viscerally; we know that these people communicate with our mind and soul. They bounce in our happy field and we love them dearly for reminding us that we own one, and for holding open the gate to it.
But sometimes, life events, or poor connections grow like prickly bracken in our happy field, and we can overlook the need to keep our fields lush green and free of weeds. That we deserve to be happy, even if we haven’t galloped in our happy fields in recent times.
So, visit a real grassy area, get outside, and immerse yourself in the calming reset that only the natural world can gift you with. Recall what makes you happy, and if necessary – jot the things that do, down. Picture them and commit to doing more of them, as though you were maintaining your happy field within.
But don’t treat them as though they are a luxury, and give them consistent and regular units of your time. Do what makes you happy with the same importance as making your bed. Happiness is not a treat; it should be an integral part of your daily routine.
And remember that true happiness never costs a single penny. It is well known that the happiest people are so, because they invest in memory makers over commodities.
Sit in the garden, with those you love. Go exploring along the coast or in the forest. Get outside with a picnic, or enjoy tea, cake and giggles.
Try to fold-in days out, cinema, theatre, or mindful retreats.
Or simply find a quiet spot outside, and read a book.
Do what makes you happy, and make it as important as the rest of your daily tasks. A concerted effort because it is good for your wellbeing. Create your own sunshine and keep your happy field within, fresh, vibrant and regularly visited.
I hope you find this helpful.
SUNNY wishes,
