Self-belief is a beautiful rare orchid that is reputedly hard to grow. Yet if we were privy to knowing about the conditions in which it takes root: then we can cultivate the secrets of our own soil. We can learn to flourish by owning this helpful human trait.

Firstly, we must clear the debris away, exposing pure fertile earth. We must dispel the myth that it has anything to do with arrogance, because this is a characteristic of ego, and egoism has its origin in insecurity. Self-belief originates from our own grown achievements, we accumulate it: petal by petal and the more blooms we grow: the less we feel insecure, and the more we feel assured and grounded.

So how do we initiate our flower to grow? We must tap into our conscious awareness, as though we were clearing bracken away, exposing the sun of us and gaining access our sub-conscious thinking. This is because ninety five percent of our thinking is done subconsciously, and many of the ways that you’ve previously grown buds of self-belief are hidden and forgotten, buried deep within your unconscious memories and minds.

When we realise that self-belief grows in layers, and it is accumulative since birth, then we can view a history of all our personal triumphs: – in the same way that we observe the growth rings seen on a cut tree trunk.  We can refresh our memories and visit previous times when by our self-belief grew shoots. We can prune the plant of us and develop more blooms of it.

We can further study our own rings, and cite and recall when we were flourishing at certain events or stages of our lives: we can emulate our behavioral patterns of yesteryear and utilize them in real time.  We are finding a forgotten source of energy, as though it were valuable water for the plant of us…

Self-doubting is a normal human emotion, but it can hinder the daily flow of us. But when we regress our thoughts remembering previous times that our self-belief was glowing, then we have a heightened sense of personal abundance and security.

And your personal collection of self-belief rings does not have to be grand, because like the circles on a tree trunk they have amassed over time. They are the facts of you, your life journey, and every little win – since you were a child.  They will include:

1: you learning to walk, because although a baby is non-verbal, one has only got to study the determination on the face of the infant: to know that it is their self-belief that makes them mobile

2: you learning to tie shoe laces, remember how you nudged the adult hand away, because you knew you would master it for yourself

3: the first time you successfully used grown-up cutlery

Follow this pattern for when you wish to remember all your self-belief landmarks, and be as detailed as you like.

Take on the attitude and especially if you are feeling depleted: “If I could do that then, then I’m damn sure that I can do this now.”

When we give attention to our personal development, we grow mindful about our surroundings. Similarly, when we realise that so many of our nutrients get hidden in our subconscious minds – like a dark forest: we can once again: – expose our equilibrium and drawer on our own power of historical self-belief; whilst understanding how we can stimulate our minds: to receive more of it!

I hope you find this helpful. With SUNNY wishes, Emma x
