Starting a fresh new year is a welcome relief for many of us. We’re embarking on an inaugural venture into twelve brand-new months ahead. How exciting!
We’re jumping into the driving seat of our car, and we can choose which roads and routes we wish to travel down.
We’re the boss of ourselves!
No matter who you work with or for, the glorious fact that you’re the boss of you, I feel needs reiterating.
This is because it’s all too easy to get caught up in the woes of our lives, our impairments, and all the problems; just like soggy leaves, that can clog clarity, or seem to pile up on our journey of life.
But, we’re the enviable human species, aren’t we? The ones with the greatest intellect, those whom can enjoy: free thought and will: create and have ideas.
Of course, we can’t be careless and leave our jobs on pure whim. Nor can we neglect our commitments, duties, or responsibilities. Yet, we still have an abundance of opportunities, and dreams we’d love to make real, those yearning desires that tingle in our tummies when we think of them.
We can start small: start our engine. This is appraising our mindsets, looking at our problems with a different perspective. It’s to be brave and courageous enough to seek help, or confide in a friend.
This is you warming up your engine and de-mystifying your windows.
Then, as you open your location App, – remind yourselves, that at the very least you’re the boss of your: actions, thoughts, and decisions. This is like having the warmth of the car heater rising feet -upwards.
Next pick one emotion that you’d like to improve on. Mine is becoming better at being calm.
This is a trauma symptom, and I feel blessed to know. The reason I state to work on your chosen emotion is because our feelings colour everything we do. They can also be mean gate-keepers to our true original selves. Our poor self-narrative. Unblocking your emotional tangles is truly key, highly liberating, grounding and quicker than you think to achieve.
All you have to do is be honest with yourselves. Enjoy the relief that all you are initially focusing on is asking of you privately which emotions you’d like to improve. You are not stating outlandish resolutions. You are not setting unrealistic deadlines. You are merely picking one of your emotions that you’d like to nurture and become the boss of it once and for all!
When you achieve this, and you will, then career ambitions, your life choices etc., will start to become clear in your mind, and then you get set off on the open road.
Example: My calmer mind makes me worry less, and in the peace of mind, my vision actually feels clearer. I can be more constructive with my time. I’m the boss of me.
I continue to practice this with: hourly affirmations / post it notes instructing: Keep cool cat / Calming sounds and music… and every day that I feel an improvement – then I treat myself to a biscuit or hot bath.
I hope this is helpful.
SUNNY wishes,
Emma x
