Our values are an intrinsic part of our personalities; though we can’t profile the markers -they are our soul DNA.  We collect and shape them through nature and nurturing. We select the values we align with, and hold them close-to-heart. We do this in bulk during puberty, as we become conscious of our personal awareness. In adulthood, our values are as calcified within our belief-system, as the very bones that hold our bodies together.

Core values seldom change, though if you enjoy culture, learning, and personal development, then they can multiply. They are like the stars and planets- that we see in an indigo sky. And those unknown or unseen, as scientists discover more.

Yet, we take our skyscape – for granted – we don’t stargaze enough. Equally, we don’t delve into our subconscious minds enough either; it’s an accessibility hindrance that ninety-five percent of our thinking is in our subconscious. We connect, reflect, walk amongst nature, or meditate. Such pursuits, and eating and exercising well: reward us with higher awareness. And a mindset to grow. Yet we know viscerally, what our belief system consists of. We protect it – as though it were our heart.

Our values help form our daily decisions, keep our morale compass rooted, the gate-keeper of our principles. It’s our telescopic lens in how we form friendships. But unknowingly we can form connections with others- who do not share our values. We must keep our lens of senses and knowing in focus… some friends are not destined to stay in our universe, they have many times smeared our psyche – with shoddy values. We have given them too many pardons, and against our internal knowing….

The values sacred to me, are honesty and integrity.  They formed in my early childhood – bestowed to me by my wonderful late father. He was a foundling – abandoned outside a London pub, as a baby. Disabled like me. Encouraged his kids to embrace individualism, to never judge anyone, before self-judgment.  To enjoy life, be charitable- be happy. But never to lie.

You might guess, that I have been hampered by many people who are the antithesis to my value system. Apparent friends who I knew never really were. But I study the sky of me regularly. My daddy the brightest star: ensuring that I maintain the values he gifted me.

I shine pity to the former people in my life; they cannot grow because they don’t even value self-honesty.  Yet, I am rewarded with the light from all the stars above, and I will continue to grow and flourish. I have maintained truth and integrity, and these my values are my sacred beacon.

I hope this is helpful.

SUNNY wishes,

Emma x
