When you find things challenging, remember there is always someone in a tougher situation than you.  When we’re feeling low in energy; this notion is the only healthy time to compare ourselves with others.

I know and admire several people who nurture a no choice attitude. It is one, I too emulated from my wonderful late father. He was a deaf, self-made foundling; abandoned as a baby, thrown into a succession of childrens’ homes. He never gave me wiggle room about my own disability, and in so became my foundational parental strength. My mother wasn’t one.

But I am only human, living in a tough era, just like you. Sometimes my energy dips. I expect it to and have many reasons – which don’t need detailing; that threaten to puncture holes in my bucket. I except all my human emotions; but I don’t dwell nor entertainment them. Instead, I look to others for inspiration, and I recently met an incredible lady called Summer. She is the epitome and shining example of how, under her own will and drive: nurturing a no choice attitude shapes her.

Summer is blind, with a plethora of other impairments. She has a magnificent attitude, travels on public transport – to attend the gym. She is a cinema goer, who cashes-in on her incredible sense of hearing. She reads using braille, talks melodically, laughs and smiles… and she considers herself lucky.

One of my oldest friends, has endured greatly; but he too fosters a no choice attitude. He is midst training to compete an Iron Man.

Another friend, whilst going through life-saving treatment, set-up a business supporting the needs of people suffering with dementia.

When we value what we have; as opposed to what we don’t have; we ignite our internal human generator of personal power. When we practice daily gratitude; before we start our day, we position our mind wheels correctly.

Our precious gift, of being in human form, is a reminder that your story is about you. To bravely and consistently clamber into the driving seat of your mind, and to embrace a no choice attitude. Observe the people around you. Make a concerted effort to look for others who can inspire you.

This is not to state that you cannot seek help; it is about regaining the power of your unique opportunity on our wonderful planet, and to keep your mindset fresh and healthy.

I hope you find this helpful.

SUNNY wishes,
