Today I turned off my car engine, because I saw a magical sight- a cat and fox meandering together up a country lane! They were not fighting, clearly enjoying one another’s company, and it reminded me of the importance of patience.
We live such hectic lifestyles, too much emphasis on rushing and creating unnecessary feelings of urgency, when often some things can wait…
As I continue my healing journey, and deal with the nuisance of cerebral palsy; I realise that as a survivor of maternal abuse, that many fundamental attributes,’ such as nurturing patience, were never bestowed on me. Patience in my upbringing, was wrongly swapped with haste and harsh judgment.
I am of course midst fixing the holes in my psyche. They may be deep-seated, since the abuse that I endured started before I could walk, aged three. Yet I feel incredibly lucky that I am aware of these ugly soul weeds.
We must bravely unearth our individual weaknesses, fostering the attitude, that only we can ultimately fix, or improve on. We must remember that we deserve to enjoy full and content lives. That feeling blissfully happy, only comes to us with continuous work on ourselves…
I waited in quiet awe, patiently for the cat and fox to turn left to the safety of some bushes. I could not believe that they were neither fighting or rushing. I imagined them laughing at us silly humans – racing around, when there’s not always the need to do so.
Later, in the same day, I was amazed to observe a white Persian cat, who was peacefully strolling in the park; on a lead with its loving owners. It is rather fond of its food, apparently. I spoke to its human parents who seemed to have all the time in the World.
Reflecting on my day, later in bed, I thought and thanked our incredible animal kingdom. They were reiterating the importance of patience. I feel so blessed that I noticed and learned greatly from them.
Observe the wonderment of nature, we are part of it, and can learn so much from every species.
I hope you find this helpful.
With SUNNY wishes,
Emma xx
