When we’ve got much on our minds, it can deplete our energy and make us feel lethargic.

If we spend too much time in this state of mind, then on lighter days’ we can fall into the unhelpful self-loathing mode. We might have woken with an energising vibe, only to subsequently wish to hide under the duvet; we’ve angst about the outstanding chores that we promised ourselves to do…

It’s can be an ever-decreasing circle, but my easy two minute energy-boosting game, can help you get back on track. It will instantly boost your energy levels, and make you feel back in the driving seat of your mind.

Al you have to do is to commit to sparing units of two minutes. Start with just one lot of two minutes, and feel free to use a digital clock to time yourselves. Here’s some suggestions of what you might achieve in just units of two minutes:

  • Get hydrated with a glass of water. Or, put the kettle on and make a cup of tea, green tea is a great option as it’s full of antioxidants’
  • Stretch your body like a cat, and massage your scalp
  • Do a breathing exercise, simply breathe in and imagine a balloon expanding in your tummy, hold for the count of four, and then exhale imagining the balloon is deflating. Do x 4 sets.
  • Eat a banana, it’s a nutritional powerhouse, provides energy boosting magnesium, potassium, fibre and vitamin c. It’s a healthy breakfast option, and easy on the stomach.
  • Make your bed, and enjoy bashing the pillows back into shape
  • Start folding up laundered clothes
  • Put a load of washing into the machine, but put it on in the evening to save on the electric bill
  • Sweep the floor, I mop mine too and it literally takes two minutes, so four minutes in total
  • Plan what you’re having for lunch – sardines on toast are both cheap, nutritional and quick to do. It’s not to do the task, moreover to assure you’re going to eat well today. It takes under five minutes to make, when you’re ready to eat.
  • Spend two minutes checking your emails. This is sufficient time because any urgent ones will stand out and plus you can delete the junk, whilst your sipping on your cup of tea
  • Check your calendar or diary, so that you’ve got a birds eye view of the day ahead
  • Get what you want for dinner out of the freezer. It’ll save the need to use a microwave to defrost it later
  • Empty the bin
  • Start clearing out a drawer

By playing this two minute game, you will quickly start to feel happier with yourselves because you’ll feel your energy levels rising. You can of course, choose to do any activity of your choice. The key is to stick to only using two minutes of your time, because you’ll start looking for jobs that only need this small amount of time to do, and you’ll feel pleased with how many tasks you can achieve.

It’s about being kind to your addled mind, and re-setting your mind-set to a more empowered version of yourselves. It’s a helpful habit that I like to adapt, by doing set tasks in the amount of time it takes to listen to a favourite tune. Blondie for instance, is uplifting, so I often apply the same principle whilst enjoying one of their timeless albums.

I hope you find this helpful.

SUNNY wishes,
