The only person that you should compare yourself to, is you!
It’s that simple, and yet it can take decades, even a lifetime to finally realise. When you do it’s hugely liberating; more than that, it is energising, because we have freed our cluttered heads and gained more clear space for healthier thinking.
So, if you have the habit of still lamenting over other people or their lifestyles, which frankly you don’t know as well as your own, then now is the time to cut away another entangling mind tether.
Once you do, and you look inwardly instead, it feels like ridding the mind of more debris. Picture the authentic you crouched within, encouraging you to consider new ways that you could make life that bit easier for your sake. This is not indulgent because the more astute you grow about your own aspirations and needs, the easier you can communicate around others.
Comparing yourself to others is depleting, futile, and a dated way of thinking if we are to improve our mental wellbeing. Only compare you to you!
