Method:
1: Gather up your beloved companion with the assistance of a yummy treat (tip: chicken works brilliantly with my puppy, and those vegan readers will be thrilled to know that plant-based “pigs ears” are widely available). If you don’t have a pet of your own, visit a friend or family member who does.
2: Find a warm cosy place to sit and plonk “the baby” on your lap, or a low safe table.
3: Blow hot potatoes on their silky coats and enjoy the wonderful scent of your angel.
4: Next, find that cute nape and start making an Ohm sound on them. (Simply say ohm and let the “mmm” bit vibrate up through your mouth and nose, for as long as you can without taking a breath. When you need to take a breath simply repeat and notice how clear your head suddenly feels, and how content “the baby” is).
Ohm is sound meditation, with many benefits for our wellbeing!
5: Now start doing a version of Box breathing on that warmed up fluffy neck.
6: Simply breathe in that glorious aroma, hold your breath for the count of four and then exhale for the count of 8. Repeat four times.
Box breathing is used by the SEALs to calm self and regulate breathing!
Enjoy!
