We humans are inundated by daily thoughts.

If we were a train, then we’d be bulging over with passengers – seated, standing. Hopping on and off, in droves- like noisy commuter traffic. Subconsciously we behave like the all-inclusive vehicle: we welcome and invite all our thoughts on board.  Too often we kindly entertain every one of them, and we’re distracted by the loudest, most unhelpful.

The need to be selective is key; our thoughts amass quickly, and they don’t all require valuable space in our minds.

We must upgrade to the first-class carriage of thinking. To focus on what we’re doing right, because our brains thrive on pattern. We are what we think, and positive affirmations alone fail to rewire our style of thinking. We need to override fear with forward motion. Ask of ourselves, what can we learn from perceived failure, and what can we do differently, to get closer to our goals. We can sit in quiet contemplation, recalling past times – when we have succeeded. What steps led to that outcome and what strategy did we use. We can apply the same exercise with many of the problems we have, by delving into our own positive history banks of life experiences.

Equally, we need to look at our engine, and our bodywork, whether we’re impaired physically, or not. Are we putting the right fuel into our bodies, getting sufficient sleep, and exercising. When did we last walk amongst nature, take in the scent of earth sea or flora.

To shift our mindset, is to overhaul our entire physiology. To be selective about the passengers we allow to occupy our heads. To appraise ourselves with clarity and to build-on all the aspects of our lifestyles – that we’re already doing right.

Holding onto to negativity is no more constructive than sitting in the over-crowded train of our thoughts…and we owe it to number one to be selective.

I hope this is helpful.

SUNNY wishes,
