Isn’t it a treat to have a single focused mind. To be so preoccupied doing something you desire – that you wouldn’t notice if an elephant was languishing in your lounge, munching on popcorn.

But, sustaining a sense of calmness, and trying to combat the illusion of imposters syndrome- is an ongoing journey, especially for those of us who endured childhood abuse, or have been without maternal nurturing. We might have embarked on dreams, when we were younger – if we weren’t busy trying to keep safe.

Therefore, when we are gifted with ideas about how we can pursue our dreams, hobbies and wishes: we should not allow latent head screed echoes to knock us off balance now. We deserve to keep focused!

How I do this, is through visualising my problems as though they were a braying beast. Because we can utilize our imagination, and recall what an ugly monster looks like to us; by tapping -into our childhood story books: a witch, gremlin, troll etc.

Expect regular visits from your monster, because they feed off your anxieties, and they are most persistent. Where you would throw rubbish into a bin, picture chucking your distracting issues into their grisly mouths instead.

Of course, we all have bigger problems: health, financial, family disputes that need to be managed. I for example, must carefully manage the cerebral palsy – if I am to keep walking. So, for me personally, being able to walk, is my daily source of gratitude; the creatures of doubt and other negative entities, do not thrive on positivity. Throw the good things their way too: – smiling, eating, and sleeping well, since it sedates them, gives you more personal power.

Indeed, many of us endure financial worries, especially at this time of the year. Yet we remember that like the pea under the mattress fairytale, that the smaller issues, such as self-doubt, can hinder us greatly. These need to be hurled at the creature too, because they are comprised of our unkind, wayward human emotions.

When we practice and become habitual about acknowledging our monsters, then we rewire our conditioned thinking. We feel more empowered, and have the confidence, and energy- to take a proactive stance, such as calling creditors early. And step by step we grow taller and stronger than the beast that insists on following us around.

I hope you find this helpful.

With SUNNY wishes,
