We all have times when we can’t be bothered!
The feeling, is a cousin of an interesting human emotion: perhaps linked to tiredness?
There could be countless reasons why, sometimes we feel we can’t be bothered.
We must never feel guilty about it, and besides, – it could be our bodies nagging voice: urging us to take a break, have a cup of tea.
What we have to be bothered about: – is why were not bothered. Ask of selves:
- Is it just a, now and then inclination to sit and do nothing? Does it only happen sometimes?
- Does it happen more often lately, and does it make you become mean to yourself?
- Do you feel that it’s becoming out of hand, and if so, you are courageous, – in finding someone you trust to speak to.
It’s also helpful to reflect back over events, and try to cite when the feeling arose. As it could be an easy-to-fix vitamin deficiency.
Remember, all of us are only human, and it’s perfectly normal to have times when you can’t be bothered. This is about being consciously aware of when these feelings arise. Accepting that, apart the grieving process, which I know takes a long time; that in happier times, – we need to be mindful about our days of lethargy. I also understand the nuisance of down-time. I have painful cerebral palsy.
In a nutshell, feelings of “can’t be bothered”, are a natural part of our human make-up. It could be that they originated from ancient man. We can imagine them after a feast, with content full tummies, and a: “I can’t be bothered attitude”, – about fixing the fire!
Of course, such an attitude couldn’t be sustained, else they wouldn’t eat. Tesco’s probably wasn’t open 24/7 back then!
We could view this: ideally temporary, state of mind, as confectionery, or another favourite treat of yours. We need it in our lives; just the same, as we should accept that we’ll always have times when we can’t be bothered. That sometimes we will gorge on candy. Or, we will surrender to the odd duvet day.
But it’s not progressive for our wellbeing to let these days over-shadow a healthier routine. In the same way that we can’t just solely diet on pure sugar!
When we begin to explore, all the feelings that we are blessed to have: our unique race; we get to know ourselves better. We collect lasting amassing units of calm and clarity: discovering them like they were wildflowers, or coins on the street. We feel energy begin to rise within us. It’s our personal fuel. We feel braver, and see the merits of asking for help. We make helpful steps towards personal growth, and feel happier on the way!
I hope this is helpful.
SUNNY wishes,
