Hopefully, my last few blogs have helped you to start to get to know yourselves better, to consider your aspirations, and to remind you of all the wonderful things which make you a unique human being…

But of course, and especially at this time of year, some of you could be distracted by money worries, or indeed a whole host of matters, which may be causing you stress. Here are ten tips on how to help de-clutter your mind:

Get in touch with the bank/utility companies to whom you owe money – early! They want to help you and the key is to get in touch with them.
Pick a room or a specific place, for example: the cupboard under the stairs, and de-clutter it. You could find items to sell online or give to charity. Repeat in every space until your home is de-cluttered.
Talk to friends or family. You’ll be surprised to find out how many other people suffer with anxiety and you could share your coping tips.
Recall a time that you were happier with yourself for an instant energy boost. The key is remembering as much of the detail as possible.
Contact a mental health charity if you don’t feel like talking to family or friends – most of them have people you can talk directly with.
List all your problems and then categorise them as A, B, C – A for the urgent ones, etc. Once you can see them written down, you’ll know which ones are a priority and those which you need help with.
Remember that only you can control your thoughts and your actions. Keep this fact in the forefront of your mind.
Commit to some form of exercise every day. Fifteen minutes to start with, even if it’s cleaning your home, although it’s hugely beneficial to get outside.
Invest in laughter. Be it with friends, family or something funny on the TV.
Take thirty minutes for yourself every day doing something you love, whether that’s having a bath, reading or going for a walk.
